Dale Stacey has spent more than 25 years in Radio Telecommunications and ICT. Dale has managed and delivered many varied large projects from concept through all lifecycle stages to delivery and further into acceptance, operations and maintenance. Dale has worked in various roles as the supplier, vendor, user, designer, integrator and consultant. Previous experience includes numerous design and construct assignments for major public utilities (oil and gas) both worldwide and within Australia (emergency services, electricity and water) and telecommunications carrier projects for Telstra, Optus, Vodafone, BT, Level3. He has represented companies and user groups at and provided studies to the ITU World Radio Conferences.
Dale is independently consulting in leading edge high bandwidth, high performance radio technologies. This involves a detailed understanding of changing technologies, available spectrum (he is an AP with ACMA) and extensive exposure to modelling with radio prediction, analysis and drive testing. Dale is working in defining the latest private networks (PMR, LTE, mesh and microwave) and public 3G, 4G and 5G networks, optimising them for maximum throughput(bandwidth) and reliability for precise client requirements.

A case study: ACT emergency service agency high bandwidth mobile radio network. Economic and independent augmentation of PSMB
The ACT Emergency Services Agency, as part of its commitment to continuous improvement in bushfire management since the devastating January 2003 firestorm, have recently deployed a high bandwidth, air to ground mobile meshed radio network. Primarily this is to accommodate live streaming from emergency incidents such as bushfire fighting through helicopters (or drones/UAVs). This investment in capability funded by the ACT is of great interest to the firefighting community, as it presents greater operational capability to manage potential and active bush fire threats through advanced infrared imagery, geo-spatial intel and live, high definition video streaming through cloud hosted ICT.
