NSW Telco Authority
Rod Gilmour has a track record of achievement in chief executive, board and leadership roles in organisations involving significant and complex staff responsibilities, as well as management of budgets with assets of up to AU$9 billion and turnover of AU$2 billion.
He is currently chair of the NSW Telco Authority, which is responsible for the strategic direction of mobile radio and data telecommunications in NSW. He retired as general manager, corporate affairs, human resources and planning of Sydney Airport Corporation Limited in June 2011 after 7 years in the role.
Prior to that, Mr Gilmour was chief executive of the Australian Capital Territory’s Chief Minister’s Department and the Urban Services Department. He previously had a successful career as a senior executive in the Commonwealth and NSW Governments.
He has been involved in providing high-level advice and support to heads of government and ministers at state, territory and Commonwealth levels. His operational, policy, regulatory, corporate, strategic planning and marketing responsibilities have encompassed a variety of sectors including transport, business and economic development, information technology and communications, and health and community services.
Mr Gilmour has a wide variety of experience on government and non-government boards including as a director of the National Rail Corporation. He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management.
Since July 2012, Mr Gilmour has provided corporate affairs services to Cabcharge Australia Limited on a consultancy basis.
