Director, NSW Police Force – PoliceLink Command
New South Wales Police Force & Chair of the National Emergency Communications Working Group —Australia and New Zealand
Chris Beatson is the Director of the PoliceLink Command for the New South Wales Police Force in Australia. Under his command he has responsibility for Emergency and non-emergency response, Triple Zero (000), Police Assistance Line (131 444), Crime Stoppers, Corruption hotline, Customer Assistance Unit, Direct Access Service for Armed Hold-up and Duress Alarms, and The Child Well Being Unit.
His command employs approximately 400 personnel, operates 24/7, 356 days of the year and receives over 32,000 contacts per week.
Chris is also Chair of the National Emergency Communications Working Group — Australia and New Zealand, Chair of the New South Wales InterCAD Electronic Messaging Governance Committee, a member of the Australian Federal Government’s Emergency Call Service Advisory Committee, a Director on the Company Board of New South Wales Crime Stoppers Ltd, a member of the Standards Australia Board for Intruder Alarms and Installations, and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
In 2014 Chris was awarded the prestigious International Crime Stoppers ‘2014 Civilian of the Year Award’ in Cape Town, South Africa.
Chris is lead on the National Emergency Management Program Project — Next Generation Triple Zero (000).
